Many people erroneously believe that a female Dalmatian has four spots – this is not the case. A full-grown Dalmatian typically has six spots, three on her back, one directly beneath her ears, and one on each side of her muzzle.

Let’s take a closer look…

Dalmatians may be okay to be left alone if they have regular, designated “alone” time and are not bothered by other pets or people. If a Dalmatian is very active and playful and does not seem shy or scared around other people or pets, then he or she may be okay with being left alone for short periods of time. If a Dalmatian has significant developmental issues stemming from early isolation, then he or she should not be allowed to be left alone at all.

Worth knowing

There seems to be a general consensus that female cats are more affectionate than male cats. This is likely due to cultural conditioning and the fact that female cats tend to be raised with more care and attention than male cats. Females also tend to use their bodies more for affection, which may be why they’re seen as being more cuddly.

While there are exceptions, generally speaking, females will try to groom you, knead you when you’re sitting down, purr when they’re content and lay in your lap for hours on end if given the opportunity. They also enjoy getting their faces scratched behind their ears. Males typically prefer giving soft nicknames like “kitten” or “baby” rather than full-blown pet names and aren’t as inclined to do much physical interaction unless it’s requested by you.

There are many different opinions on how many horns a sheep can have. However, most sources say that a full grown sheep typically has two to four horns.

Worth knowing

When a puppy is born, their ears are still short and floppy. As they grow older, the ears will start to stand up and be more curled. Sometimes, theears might look like they have been cut or cropped at an odd angle. This is known as a teddy bear cut. Teddy bear cuts happen when the ears are not set in correctly or when one side of the ear is larger than the other. When this happens, it can cause noise pollution for the dog, since sound waves travel differently through different sized objects. A teddy bear cut can also be a sign of underlying health problems such as ear infection or malformation. If you notice that your puppy’s ears look like they have been cut or cropped, contact your veterinarian immediately to schedule a check-up.
